Privacy policy

This page describes how BestMCServerList uses information to operate its server directory. For privacy requests, contact contact@getsitebuilt.com.

Account and listing information

When you create an account, we store your name, email address, password hash, account role, and basic account timestamps. Server names, descriptions, connection addresses, images, game modes, and community links you submit are intended for public display after approval. Do not include private information in public fields.

Voting and abuse prevention

We store the Minecraft username and timestamp of each vote. Recent voter names appear publicly on server profiles. Network addresses are converted into keyed hashes for vote limits, reports, rate limits, and daily profile-view counting. We also count successful address copies and visible sponsored placements and their profile clicks, deduplicated per network, server, metric, and UTC day. Owners see aggregate activity for their own servers; raw network addresses are not stored in these analytics records.

Sessions and security

An essential session cookie keeps you signed in, protects forms, and carries status messages. Password reset tokens are stored as hashes and expire after one hour. Hosting and integration services may keep their own access and security logs.

Payments and external services

Stripe processes sponsorship payments. We store order references, plan, amount, currency, payment status, and sponsorship dates; card details are entered on Stripe checkout. Server-status checks send a server’s public connection address to mcstatus.io. If enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile verifies anti-bot challenges.

Uploaded server banners are stored by this website and displayed publicly after listing approval. Older listings may use external images; loading an external image can disclose a visitor’s network address to its host. External websites and Discord links follow those services’ policies.

Retention

Scheduled maintenance removes expired rate-limit and vote-lock records, expired password reset tokens, old detailed profile views and listing analytics events after 90 days, and old delivery payloads. Account, listing, vote-history, payment, and moderation records may remain for directory operation, dispute handling, and abuse prevention. Exact retention depends on maintenance operation and hosting backups.

Your requests

You can update your listing in the dashboard and remove it from public display. For account access, correction, deletion, or questions about retained information, email the contact above. We may need to verify ownership. Some transaction, moderation, or backup records may need to be retained.

Advertising

Sponsored listings are labeled. This installation does not include third-party behavioral advertising or analytics scripts by default. If additional advertising or analytics services are introduced, this policy and any required privacy choices must be updated.
